  1. I got this in the e-mail today. The sale is 4/15 from 6-midnight. Here are the items at regular price: 4x DVD+R Media 120 Min / 4.7GB, 50 Pack & 2x DVD-R Media, 120 Minute / 4.7GB, Cakebox, 50 Pack

I don't know if they're any good, but for $10, it's hard to beat. I'd say if you've had good luck with these disks before, it's time to stock up since it's an "instant rebate", so you don't have to send anything in....

  2. If you get AML media coded +R discs those are supposed to actually be quite good discs. All the other variations of the +R and -R are of marginal quality I believe.

  3. It might be worth the gamble. I have an ILO DVD Recorder that uses +R's. If they'd work on it I'd be happy....

  4. Yeah, I'd buy a couple spindles if I had a CompUSA where I'm at. I'm a sucker for cheap media, my NECs can usually make decent discs of them :P

  5. I've never heard anyone refer to AML discs as good before.

I bought a hundred DVD+R disks on sale in CompUSA for $20 couple weeks ago. They had AML media code. I burnt three of them and couldn't read them after that. I returned them the next day. NO AML for me!

I had LiteOn 1633S at that time. The 100 pack stacks (no spindle (what a shame)) of +Rs and -Rs were wrapped in clear plastic with white label on the side. Each spindle was $15 after $5 mail-in-rebate. I bought one pack of +Rs. When I got home I checked the media code, it was AML. I burnt three disks and none of them was readable on either stand alone dvd player or back on 1633S. I took them back to CompUSA.

For the best deal in town, go to this site, pick up your state, and then click on the product you are looking for.

  10. I'm already familiar with that site, but thanks. There's a coupon for Fuji 50 pack +/-R's later this month. I can't remember how much they are, but as I recall it's a good deal. I'll post the details later. I've also got at least 50 of the TDK's left from the Costco sale a while back, so I've got lots. Still, I like to stock up whenever there's a good deal....

  11. Oh crap. I did not mean the AML discs, I meant the Infome discs are supposed to be good. Sorry for the confusion.

  12. Check out the other thread about the Taiyo sale at supermediastore. 100 TY dvd-r for $27, shipped! That's 7 cents more per disc than this special, but you get Taiyo Yuden quality.

    are they REAL ty's tho?

  14. From SMS, absolutely. No doubt about it. Although, the deal might not be quite as good as the one I got. I ordered a few hundred which reduced my overall price per disc. Ordering only 100 might raise the cost to around 32 cents a disc, but IMO TY at 32 cents is still better than junk at 20.

    are they REAL ty's tho?

  15. I wouldn't buy that junk media when you can get 100 TY for 30, shipped, even less, why risk it ???

  17. I got 50 Fujis from pcconnection.com for free after rebate once.

Don't buy for price, buy first for compatibility, that it works with your writer, then price.
