  1. Just wondering if you know if Optodisc 4x is good media to burn on, I saw a pack of Inkjet printable media and not sure if this reliable media. I have used Memorex DVD-R for all my dvd backups (over 150) and it has never failed me yet, so I would like to know what your opinions of Optodisc media is. I just got my R200 Printer and I want to see if this is good. Opinions.

    Thanks for the help..

    Your kidding right?
You must not have tried their 8x media. Its a huge improvement over their 4x stuff. Atleast the dvd+r.

  6. All the Optodisc -R and -RW media I've used was PURE POOP. Their older +R media codes are apparently crap as well, but I've used their newest +R code, OR8, and shockingly enough, it's good media. From what I understand their OR4 4x +R media is similar to the OR8 media, but I've had very bad experiences with their -R media.

If your question is what is the BEST printable -R media, the answer is typically going to be TY media, but it's priced accordingly higher.

  7. Ok, I think that is the way to go, any specific TY media or is it all really the same, what is u're opinion...

  8. Their 8x will run about $60 per 100 online, not sure if you'll find 4x online. If the price is too steep, you could try out some Prodisc or Ritek discs, you can get 4x media for about $30 or so per 100 from those two brands. These discs have had varied success, for example I know that some people have had problems with the discs on their Liteon, but they burned fine on their NEC, etc. The TY is probably as close as you'll get to a sure thing, but they cost alot more.

  10. I wouldn't suggest the 0R4 dvd+r media of Optodisc. This media seems to become unreadable after a short time for a lot of people. The 0R8, like steve2713 said, is good media and doesn't suffer from that problem.
