I'm not at home at the moment and I wanted to watch the other Thunderbirds 2086 tapes I have. I should be on my way back to the house today or tomorrow (I drive a truck) but since I'll have a week of free time, I wanted to pick up a straight PAL VCR that are fairly easy to find in Los Angeles, since I found in another post that I can use my ATI AIW9600XT card as the "converter" instead of spending another $100-150 on say the Samsung VHS with built-in converter.
Anybody recommend an affordable PAL player? Ive found some Sony, JVC and Samsung unit around $100. Will that provide quality playback?
Thanks Guys, this is truely the best site of its kind anywhere and I always come here first.

Here are my notes. I pasted notes into Notepad as I was researching which VCR to get. Note, I wanted a PAL player that outputted PAL video, as opposed to a PAL player that outputs a PAL converted to NTSC. The prices are probably different (but close) today. FWIW, I decided on the Sony SLV-ED828, but had to get the ED939 because the 828 was no longer being sold. I am satisfied with my purchase so far.
