I use to be able to capture still images at the full resolution 720*480 for menu creation. Now it will only capture stills at half that. In windows explorer in xp it shows the advc as a camera and that you can take new pictures. This is where I did the capturing. I also have the Dazzle hollywood bridge, it too is doing the same thing.

What I was wondering, was if this is an OS related problem and that a reload (last resort) would fix this or is there a few registry hacks that would fix it (preferred). I've been through registry and I don't find much related to the device considering that windows identifies it as a AVC Compliant DV Tape Recorder/Player. I have another machine running WIN2K but it doesn't have the win explorer xp feature of showing the canopus or dazzle as the AVC Compliant... So I can't check it on that system. If anyone has had similiar problems let me know if you found a fix for it. If not I may just try a reload to ease my mind to find out if it would work.

Thanks all for the help in advance.

it is capturing 1 field instead of a frame - which sounds correct if you want a sharp image

  3. IU seem to remember that WMP plays DV at half resolution by default and that this can be changed by changing a setting on the properties menu of WMP. Maybe this or something similiar is the problem?

Well I think that I'm going to try a reload. Just out of curiosity I use to use vegas 3.0 video capture prior to finding out about windv. Now when I try to open it up the program crashes with either the canopus or dazzle. I power down the devices then I can open it up, but as soon as I power either up the program crashes. I will let ya know.

Appreciate the help fellas, Lord knows you've have helped me in the past!!
