I'm sure there's a lot of things people would like on future versions of DVDShrink. The ability to map where on a DL disc the titles go (and set a layer change) would be a top candidate. My personal favourite would be the ability to add subtitles without going through the five-program process of demuxing and remuxing. Let's all make a list, shall we?

  2. Not a lot of point in making a list, I'm afraid --- probably not going to be any more new versions!-- see here:

I only brought it up because the number of tasks that should be easy but involve mucking around with no less than six programs annoys me. Especially considering that one distributor has taken to releasing DVDs in this country that feature a) no subtitle streams of any use to English-speakers and b) have lousy soundtracks.

I very much doubt there will be future updates, the the guy that wrote it is now employed by nero (recode).

That said, I think everyone who is using Shrink should be extremely grateful he provided the application absolutely FREE. I think it is great the way it is and I for one, do not have the funds to buy everything along commercial lines, more importantly, I think it would hard to find something better in any form or at any price on the market.

Never knock a gift, particually a gift as good as Shrink.

You can wish all you want, but the author has moved on to other projects. Shrink does what he set out to do. You can't have everything in one little package. There are others programs, two that I have that can do what you want. DVD Shrink was designed to do one thing, back-up! Spend some money and get the features you want. Cheers!
