I am a newbie please bear with me.
I have just recieved my birthday present 2 weeks early, a Toshiba 46WM48 DLP rear projection Tv.
The picture is very good especially when watching programes on Freeview one of the main reasons for buying the TV is that it is advertised as HDTV ready and comes with a HDMI connector and Mini DSub 15 pin connector for PCs.
I saw a demo of HDTV in my local Comet store and the quality was awesome
My question is while I am waiting for HDTV to take off in the UK is it worth while buying a Video Scaler or something like a Samsung HD931 will they vastly improve the overall picture or should I wait till the real thing is available?

  2. In a word, no.

I looked into buying a scaller when I first got my HDTV. I was dissapointed in the SD picture on the HD screen.

I think you will find,as I did, once you do get an HD feed you will not be watching to much SD.

I have DirecTV with the HD Tivo and I almost never watch SD.

You will have wasted a Lot of money on a quality scaler.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
