WHEN I CLICK THE ADD FILES BUTTON ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF VCD EASY, IT WILL ONLY LET ME OPEN MPG FILES. HOW DO I GET IT TO ACCEPT AVI OR OTHER FILE TYPES

First, please turn off the caps.

Second, you can't. VCDEasy is a program for authoring/burning x(S)VCDs. It doesn't encode files, so you files need to be in the correct format to begin with.

When you say avi (most likely DivX I assume) you need to encode it into a MPEG. See the 'Convert' section to the left for guides on how to do this.
