  1. Hello everyone,

I have the ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon card, and have been trying to find the right capture software to use. My goal is to record several programs over the course of the week and burn them to Video CD. I travel internationally a lot, and want to be able to watch my favorite programs on my portable player.

I stopped using the MMC software from ATI because of its lack of ability to schedule a recurring program.

I moved to PowerVCR II, but finally got frustrated with the quality. It also has a nasty habit of just skipping a scheduled program ... not good.

The Ravisent WinVCR program won't work under Windows 2000.

Intervideo WinDVR looks like it will do what I need. However, I can't burn the output to a Video CD without Nero complaining about an "invalid stream format". If I ignore the error and burn anyway, it will work on my home DVD player but not on my portable. I'm guessing that I am unintentionally making an XVCD.

The settings I am using are:

    1152 Kbps
    29.97 fps
    Stereo audio at 224 Kbps
    352x240

There is an advanced page tab under record where I have taken the defaults. Maybe this is where my problem lies?

Is anyone using WinDVR to create standard Video CD format CDs?

    Thanks in advance,

    Derek

  2. You can try this: re-encode the MPEG file produced by the ATI AIW with TMPGEnc (this should be very quick, not a really long encoding process).
The result should be a VCD compliant MPEG file.

drogillio the 1152 Kbps (In fact it real 1173Kbps) is wrong with in WinDVR you need drop it down to 1123Kbps = 1152Kbps or 1073Kbps = 1100Kbps.
Not only that there using really off MPEG format.
