burning movies to DVD

Hello,

im new and i dont speak english very well so i hope u'll understand me. I all ready convert movies and burn them on CD and watch it on DVD PLAYER but now i want to do this on DVD. In what format a movie must be so i can watch it on DVD PLAYER (not on pc but on dvd player component). What program is "the best" to do that? Im wondering how i must burn movie on dvd (as normal-file dvd, music dvd or what?).

Mpeg1 or Mpeg2.

There really is no best.

The best is what works for you.

If you already do that then it's a simple step to making DVD compliant mpegs. If you make VCD's then you are already making video that is DVD ready, but it's at the bottom end of the scale for DVD. Once you have your mpeg you just author and burn
