  1. i got an avi file which i want to encode with tmpgenc and i want permanent subtitles on the video. there is no subtitle file, the subs are embedded in the avi file. the text is too small and i want to make it bigger, i checked the vobsub configuration but nothing works.

    any ideas?

    maybe sub/idx dvd subs, then you can't resize. try demultiplex the subs with virtualdubmod, under streams->stream list to check what format it is.
