    Hah!
I've got the same problem with that printer. Good luck and stay away from Epson. I replaced my 880 with a C82, but after 9 months, it quit because of cloggs or pump failure. I kept my 880 for emergencies, when the blue lines don't matter. I have tried different certridges, but it still does it. There might be a way to clean the waste pad, but cleaning it did not help on my C82.

  3. Had the same problem with my C82 yesterday...it's in the trash heap this morning in favor of a new C86. Epsons get clogged and junky after about a year.

Here's a tip someone gave me, seems to work pretty good. Turn the printer off when your not using it. I definitley do lot less head cleaning on my epson.

  6. I got the C86 because it has cheap aftermarket carts and the high printing resolution.

  7. I have also swore off Epson. Am using Canon right now. Sweet.

Anyway, the last time the Epson had a clog, I searched the internet and found some references that putting a few drops of Windex onto the cleaning pad and then turning off the printer (using the off button), letting it sit for a few hours or overnight helps to unclog the printer.

Apparently, what happens is that when you switched off the printer, it will rest the head onto the cleaning pad (that's why some people endorse switching off the printer with the on/off switch) and the Windex is suppose to help unclog the printer. Doing a couple of head cleaning will supposely restore the printer to new.

I tried every method there is and still no luck. I think it is the pump that is supposed to clean/prime the heads.
