    no program will reconize my dvd burner i have a sony dru500

    What copying programmes are you using?and are they the latest versions?sometimes you need to update the software to get it to recognise newer drives.

    Does the drive show up in windows exployer? Are you able to play a DVD movie with the drive? I bet the drive primary/slave jumper is not set right.
