I'm slightly embarrased to ask this as it will probably come out as "burn CD, insert into player and wait for All Done message", but...

SM Electronic's website, shockingly for a german company selling stuff in a german branded supermarket chain, only has their firmware upgrade instructions in fairly deep and colloquial german (to my frazzed, school textbook languaged brain). Naturally, I tried to babelfish it, and almost inevitably, the output was a mixture of NY taxi driver, frozzgargle, and randomly capiTALISED but readable english... but it made less sense than the original..

So, I'm going to take a leap of faith and hope that out of thousands of people who look at these forums (going by poll vote turnouts!), there's got to be at least one or two who will look in this forum, have a kind heart, and are bilingual in english and german.

I've got the general jist of random phrases (Update fur 2500... die player startet dann neu) but as ever, both God and the devil are in the details. With something as critical as a firmware over-write, it pays to be totally sure.

Without further ado, ladies and gents could you please tell the ajudicators what the flarging heck THIS means

    This is a babelfish translation.

Burn those ARE file on an CD-r (ISO format, SINGLE SESSION, NO CD NAME) switching you its DVD Player putting you the updates CD selecting you in the menu for the update Complete and/or complete from if the CD drive out individually take you the CD leaving you the Player (until max 10min) to stand immediately and wait you to the Player the update accomplished. The Player starts then again. SM electronics does not take over any adhesion for damage by use of the update aufteten.

  4. THE TRANSLATION AS FOLLOW:

    Update for 2500

Burn the individual BIN files into one CD-R (ISO Format, SINGLESESSION, NO CD NAME)
    Turn your DVD Player on
Insert the Update CD you just burned
In Menu: Select "Update Complete" or "Komplett"
REMOVE CD IMMEDIATELY upon CD's ejection
Leave the player alone and wait (max 10 minutes) until update finished
    Restart the player

    Hope above will help.

JS1604 did a good translation job. It's just the last line might mislead you. Instead of reading "Restart the player" it should read "The player will restart". (This should happen in less than the above-mentioned 10 minutes)

  6. Something you might find usefull for future use. If you use IE6 goto google.com, and d/l the google toolbar. Once installed you can right click any web page, and choose "Translate into English" from the menu. The page will reload translated. You will still have slight weirdness with verbs and stuff ie "Over the fence pig throw" but it does a really good jub, It has helped me with all kinds of downloads, even news and how to articles.
