I have a friend who got transferred from Singapore to the U.S.
He has a Samsung DVD player and all Pal videos. They play, but the problem is that he has a U.S. purchased TV which is NTSC and the videos are distorted.
He also would like to purchase some new videos here that will be NTSC with a different country code.
Could someone make some suggestions ? The only think I can think of is if the DVD player has a hack listed somewhere that will allow for the PAL videos to play on the NTSC TV set.
Also, a hack if available to clear the coutnry code.
Are there any other things you can thing of ?
Thanks,
Jon

You need to be more specific about model numbers....
Since it is PAL DVD player..... isn't there just an option in menu (or on remote) what type of TV is used ? Try to look around. These stupid NTSC vs PAL problems are more typical in US. I believe that in the rest of the world DVD players are probably able to do more then ones that you can buy here.Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
Dunno if it helps, but I got Panasonic RV32 and a few factory VCDs in PAL, they play on my NTSC TV just fine, never had PAL DVD disks thou.
