I was at pcphotovideo.com last night and he had some SVCD examples. He said he hadn't done much with it yet, but what he did do he showed. The One done with Wincoder looked much better than the one with TMPEGEnc.
As I have stated in a previous post, I have not been happy with my captures lately. So I downloaded the demo and gave this a quick try. It set up easily. The only thing I noticed is it wants to use the default all the time, so make sure you go into setup and select custom and then the custom profile you made, NOT default. Besides that, everything was easy to start using.
Now for the output, smooth, no jerkiness or anything, but I had real issues with blocks. For MPEG1 they were far fewer, but mpeg2 was real blocky. Now this other gentleman did not have the same issues and I didn't have much time to play with it. So I was wondering if anyone else has? And if yes, could you tell us your experiences?
P.S.
The demo is limited to 2 minutes. And it's strong point, almost real time encoding... Gotta like that. Give it a try http://www.intervideo.com
