    it certainly does. i can think of a good use though! capture your DV directly to it (at 4megs a second it can just do it) to then use in your dedicated encoding rig, or for playback on a HTPC. much better than dv tapes, as you have random access, and 2X realtime access. neat.

    It also reminds me of our first CD-Rom drive. We had to put the disks in a cartridge for it to read it. It was painfully slow 1x, but it worked! I wonder if the disks are permainitly encased in the shells, or if they come out.
