  1. Should I have to rip the files that Decrypter chooses by default and select the other 3 files VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.BUP and VIDEO_TS.VOB?

When I do this, would I have the choice to select between Dolby Digital and DTS or even regular Stereo if the DVD has these formats? Or do I have to rip the whole DVD to manipulate this things when I'm transcoding?

I rather have DTS and regular Stereo in stead of Dolby Digital.

It is important to have a regular stereo option in case some one doesn't have a DTS or Dolby decoder, I mean when some one uses only a TV and a DVD player.

  2. I use smartripper to rip the whole movie,(VOB files), then through trial and error, figure out which VOB files make up just the movie. In order to rip the movie, you first have to play it in a software DVD player, like Power DVD. You don't need any of the BUP files. Generally the VOB files will be labled something like: VTS 01 0.VOB, VTS 01 1.VOB, etc... To avoid the FBI warning, you generally don't use the file labled: VTS 01 0.VOB. Separate the approriate VOB, and IFO files into a folder, then try to run them, in Power DVD, or equivalent. If it doesn't work you're maybe missing a file, or mabe a file is there, that isn't supposed to be. Trial and error is a slow process, but it works. Keep what you need, and delete the rest.
