  1. Hi All,
I am a newbie to all of this. I just purchased a Toshiba 5002 DVD burner & was wondering if I should install it as a third drive or replace one of my existing two drives. My other two drives are a 32x10x40 CD-R/W and a 16x DVD rom. I also currently have two HD's (1 is 40GB & the other is 10GB). I wasn't sure which configuration would help me the best. I have an AMD Duron 900Mhz processor & 640 megs of PC133 SDRAM. Let me know if you have any tips on helping the burning process go smoother for me. I plan on using DVD Encrypter & either DVD2one or DVD Shrink. Thanks for any advice! :P

  2. Well Jedibb its seems as though we have a similar setup and before I go any further the Toshiba 5002 DVD Burner is one of the best burners out there. So going on my experiances it would'nt be a good choice in trying to use all three.

    1. I just disabled my CD-R/W, but don't make the same mistake as I did make sure you finalized any CD'S YOU CREATED WITH IT.

    2. Make sure you don't have Direct cd on your computer, instead use a programme called BurnDrive.

    3. Getting rid of your DVD ROM Drive is not an option otherwise how would you copy any of your DVD'S, you need it to Decrypt your DVD'S.

    4. Your DVD Writer will also read and write cd's as well so in effect you don't really need your CD-R/W.

Hope this helps you out in some way. GOOD LUCK.

have to agree - I swapped my DVD-R for the cd burner, as it would be redundant.

but I have had no problem adding data to multisession discs with the new burner - I'm using the same software (Nero) and it recognizes the previously-burned multi discs just fine.
