  1. Can someone please help with birate settings. I've been up day and night for the past two days trying to make a SVCD on two CDs and haven't been able to get the right size. I have 80 min 700MB disc to fit 106min(1:46)of video/audio. Every time I'm done encoding which takes all day and night and open the file about half of the video comes out to almost a gig. I've tried changing birate setting with no luck. I'm new too this and not sure how to get it right. Maybe someone could break it down or tell me of a general setting to use with TMPGEnc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    have you tried a bitrate calculator?

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/calc.htm is a good one.

  3. Let me add that you have to encode with either CBR or multipass VBR for the bitrate calculators to work. The formula is pretty easy thou.

    x(S)VCD data is in kbit/s

    1byte=8bits

    80min CDR holds 800,000KB (ok, here's another aside there are two ways to refer to 1MB: 1,000,000bytes and 1,048,576bytes for this discussion use 1,000,000bytes).

    That's 6,400,000kbits

    Divide by 60, then divide by movie time for total kbit/s

    eg. 47min video

    6,400,000/60*47 = 2269kbit/s

    Spilt that between the video and audio, so audio=224kbit/s leaves 2045kbit/s for the video.
