are you running a lot of programs?
also, sometimes the time will start off at an outrageous amount and it will quickly go down.Bravoxena -
If you are running lots of filters, it can slow things down. Especially noise reduction.

If you are working with a lot of movies deleting and creating files.....make sure you defrag your hard disk often. TMPGenc can use a ton of I/O. I noticed a huge improvement in performance once I went from a single 7200 rpm drive to 2 7200 rpm drives in a RAID 0 array.
