  2. Probably NEC. But I doubt the Ikebana is available yet is it? Do you have a link to it?

No the A05/105 only does -RW. Not sure what they are using yet in those, I guess somebody somewhere is gonna have to spend some cash first then report.

i just got mine in this morning. it has an 8 meg buffer. afaik only the sony has an 8 meg buffer so i'm fairly confident this is not a NEC and probably a Sony.

at $230 it's an awesome drive.

  7. Where did you find the Ikebana drive for $230?

I followed the link to Outpost they listed it for $350.

    Am I missing something?

  8. In frys electronics add, its priced at $249 with a $70 rebate for a final price of $179, now if thats a sony, WOW thats a steal.

  9. I don't think that is the same product. There is an Ikebana DVD+R burner for $259 with $70 rebate, but the one refered to above has the capabilities to do DVD+R and DVD-R.

  12. I'm waiting for the new LG tripple drive to be released. It will do -R, +r, -RW, +WR, RAM, CDr, and CdRW. The -, and + at 4x, and RAM at 2x I'll dig that as I'm a big RAM fan. I love my DVD-RAM\R, and now got accustomed to RAM for Data, and testing Video if I do something new that might make a coaster.

That was price after $50 rebate, but $279 was still a great price before rebate.

And sorry, I didn't realize Outpost had it on sale.... it's up to the same price as a Sony badged drive... glad I got it while it was so cheap.

    I quoted wrong reply.

As pointed out the Fry's ad is for a +R drive only... not the +/- R
