  1. I was wondering if there was a way to burn a (s)vcd with some sort of copyright tag so that it can't be burned again. I'm letting a friend borrow my movies, but I think he's using them to burn many copies to sell them. Instead of accusing him, I thought I could avoid an ugly scene if I could just burn future movies in a way that would prevent him from copying them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How about starting all your (S)VCDs with a short movie segment (still mpeg, even!) with a "copyright" notice? There's no way you'll ever succed in copy protect the CD as such. If your "friend"s knowledge just allows him to do simple CD copy, he wont be able to remove the copyright notice. If he's cleverer, just merge the copyright clip with the main video, (or even better - overlay your notice for the first 10 secs of the move or so) and it will be harder to remove. But there's nothing stopping anyone with enough determination...

  4. Thanks for the reply. I figured as much but thought I'd ask anyway.
