i've been trying to make a backup of a skateboarding film called menikmait. the problem is that it's non encrypted and it's screwing everything up. I decrypted it with the tutorial on this site and tried to reencode it with both dvd2one(full disk) and dvd95 copy. I got error messages on dvd2one saying something about encryption and dvd95copy just woulnd't do it either.
any suggestions?
thanks alot!

If you have DVD Encrypter, use it. I did a dub of a non-encrypted DVD with it and it got the job done in less than an hour. DVD Encrypter works with a non-encrypted disc just as an encrypted one does.
-
do you mean dvd decrypter?..cause i did a search for dvd encrypter..if that's what you meant.... so this program will encrypt this dvd?..i thought the point was to DE-crypt?
-
Well I only ran across one DVD that was non encrypted and I just copied the contents of the disc to my hard drive to a VIDEO_TS folder and used RecordNow Max to burn it to DVD-R.
-
If the DVD is not encrypted then you don't even need to use DVD Decrypter. Just copy the disk to the drive, Use Instant Copy or similar app to compress it so it fits on a DVD-5 disk then burn away.
The only reason you would need a DE Crypter is if the disk is Encrypted in the first place.Ummm.. Yeah, what he said... -
i tried it and it didn't work..it keeps on giving me the same error message. It keeps on saying it can't work with the encrypted data when dvd decrypter says that there is no encryption on it. I tired dvd2one and dvd95copy with an decrypted video_ts and a regular video_ts.
?? anyone know what' swrong? -
Don't have a clue what the problem is however I would try just ripping then remove all the files except for the IFO, BUP, and of course VOB files then run IFOedit then DVD2one.

DVDxcopy will probably work since it doesn't play with the encryption at all anyway.

@ tim_k
LOL! you actually believe DVDxCopy doesn't play with the encryption???
how then do you suppose the material gets copied hmmm????
ha ha ha....sometimes ignorance can be funny though -
Such a smartass. With DVDxcopy "The source DVD is processed as a video stream AFTER any appropriate decoding or decryption has taken place". Per 321 Studios. So it doesn't matter if the disc is encrypted or not. It does not decrypt in the way ripping programs like dvddecrypter work.
-
yes....processes AFTER any decoding or decryption takes place....
IS THIS NOT HOW DVD DECRYPTER WORKS????
hmmmm.....the very name of the program suggests decryption....to decrypt before the video is processed is exactly what both programs accomplish. -
