Recently flashed my pioneer 105 with unoficial firmware makes all x1 discs burn at x2 works brilliant
can no burn cheap x1 media in 30 mins

Anyone else tried this there is a x1 to x4 in the pipeline but its in test stages so dare not try it anyone else done it...lol

did it work or naff your drive??????????

The flash doesn't change the quality of the media, it just makes it possible to burn at 2x IF the media can handle it. What brands have you tried? I've been able to burn Ritek G03 disk at 2x VERY reliably.

I know alot of people who have problems with princos at 1x, so my gut would be not to expect much at 2x with them. For 2x disk you might want to try the oft mentioned Ritek G03s which burn quite well at 2x with the firmware patch.

Hi all,

I use the "unofficial" firmware for the 105 aswell. Although i have read many post on different sites saying the Princo 1x DVD-R's are crap, i myself have never had any problems with them. Even now when i'm burning them at 2x they work like a charm No errors or coasters so far.

i tried some ritek they were a load of crap supose its what works best in ye machines at the end of the day
