If I add a 2 channel stream and 2nd 6ch stream when the DVD is playing which stream will it select? Do i have to somehow assign the audio stream playback or is it automatic?

    thx In advance

In the absence of any forced commands--which are easy to do--, Maestro will "default" to using the 1st stream.
However, during runtime, when you do switch streams, the player will remember which one you currently are on, and in the absence of any other stream-switch commands, it probably will remain on whatever stream you switched to.

When I want to have the user follow a particular stream, I force it with a buttons "Stream Preselect" property.

    Does that clarify things?

  3. DVDMaestro will auto select the first audio in the audio list. You can change that by:

Right click on the 'Untitiled1 Project' area and click Properties.
Then in the Initial Stream Setting, check Set Audio To whatever stream you want.

    Good luck.

Ok so if I put 6ch in the first stream and 2 ch in the second stream if i dony have surround sound capabilities at home it will just play 2ch stereo..correct? Or I could just make a playlist one with 2ch and one with surround..yes?

#1. If you put 6ch in stream1 and 2ch in stream2: Assume you don't have "Initial Stream" set or "Stream Preselect" set... You will get the 6ch stream. How your player and decoder/amp react to it is another matter. Player could be set to downmix (most are) or just past L+R fronts, etc.

#2. You don't need to use playlists to do what you're asking for. Just make a menu w/ 2 buttons. Button 1 could be set w/ Movie as target-with "Stream Preselect" set to 1, Button 2 could be set w/ Movie as target-with "Stream Preselect" set to 2. Done.
