Hi. I just purchased a Phillips DVDR 880 DVD recorder, and am interested in copying some of my video collection onto DVD. I connected my Video recorder to my DVD recorder via a Scart cable and started to record, but the result was not satisfactry and unwatchable. I think this may be copy protection in my video recorder. Just wanted to ask if anybody here knows of a way to bypass this copy protection.
Cheers.

Normally if the tape is copy protected you'll get a message on the 880 saying so and it will not record. I suggest you try a home recording and see how that turns out. From what I remember Maplins sell Macrovision decoders which you plug between the 2 devices for about £40.
