    ive seen these hacks and stuff on this site..what are they used for..can my dvd player do something special if i hack it or something.....holla

    If you for example hack the region code you can play dvds from different regions(dvds from different parts of the world).

    disabling macrovision is another hack. basically macrovision prevents you from copying the dvd to a vhs tape.. if you disable macrovision you can record it to a vhs tape (or do a vidcap) and then give the vhs to the kids so they can watch & destroy it.. and when they do, you make them another copy.

    Some hacks let you play cdrs if your player cannot already.
