  1. I recently formatted my computer as i was having problems and I then installed everything from scratch again (Windows 98 2nd Edition OS). I am having problems when i rip cd's. Before i formatted my computer, i was getting good ripping speeds of about 12x with MusicMatch Jukebox. But now i only get 4x. I have changed a few settings but nothing works, and other CD Rippers are the same. Does anyone know what could be causing this. I was maybe thinking that it might be a setting on my cd-rom drive needed changed, but im not sure. If anyone knows anything can they reply as soon as possible as this problem is annoying me.

Just to let you know, my computer specs are:

    Dell Dimension 4100
    Pentium 3 - 800MHz
    128 MB Ram
    14GB HD

    Thanks

    Yeah, this does sould urgent.

I doubt it has anything to do with any cd-rom drive settings. It would seem more logical that the problem is from the software somewhere. pacmania_2001 would bet that here I would say that in order to fix the problem that you should get rid of that nasty peice of crap know as windows and get a real computer (a mac). But cheek the settings again to see if you may have changed the rip speed. I have a piece of software that will rip at slower speeds if I want, depending on what I set it to, half speed, full speed, etc.
