  1. Hey guys,

Just got the cendyne DVR-105 4x DVD-R burner and a 50 pack of 4x esbuy media.

Just wondering about people's experience burning longer movie files, at 4x, onto this media using this burner. How does it do? Also, how is compatibility in DVD players - does esbuy media play in dvd players the same as any other media?

Lastly, why in DVD WS (version 1.0 - the 1.3 update is temporarily unavailable), and Nero for that matter, can I only select to burn up to 2x for DVD recording?

    Thanks,

    Dan

  2. I have a stack of 100 DVD-R from esbuy and they burn just fine at 4x on my Pioneer 105. On my crippled Sony 500A they only burn at 2x but so does any and all brands of 4x DVD-R after I updated to the 1.0g firmware.

Those discs from esbuy.com are Ritek 4x discs.

They have no safety coating on top, and scratch easier because of it. Those discs suck. I returned mine after I saw what cheap garbage they were. Seriously, how many pennies would it cost to either brand the discs, or at least put a nice colored coating to protect the valuable data!?

Go get the 4x Princo discs. Secure white coating, true 4x burns, nice discs. Got mine at GoRoyalPC.com

NEVER NEVER NEVER label a DVD. They are NOT like CDs. The slightest variance in the paper sticker can cause a disc to become unplayable.
