There is no uninstall. Your only solution is to reformat and reinstall your OS and DON'T upgrade WMP.

If you are using WindowsXP, why not do a system restore to the date before you installed it?

It's a one-way upgrade. You can't 'un-install' it, and it tells you that when it installs. System restore can fix it, or a format and clean install.

I can't be removed, period, it changes parts of the OS. You can try and work around it, what has it broken? Anything DivX 3 I'm sure?

Rembember that you can use the old media player 6.4 even if you have installed media 9. In media player 9 deselect all file types that it should play and then when you double click on an avi just choose \program files\windows media player\mplayer2.exe for media player or choose some other player.
