I'm very new to this. I have a lot of avi files that do not seem to meet the criteria I see mentioned in most of the help guides. My Problem is when I convert to a mpeg file the sound is asynch. This after splitting the audio and video in TMPG and using the wav file from Vdub. I made this mpeg using the guide at https://www.videohelp.com/divxtovcd.
I'll see what I think is a solution in the guides and I always seem to get deadended. For example, one guide that uses BeSweet says to open in WMP and sheck the statistics to see what the average fps really is but I get a "statistics unavailable" message.
In GSPOT the info on my files is:
VIDEO
4cc-Div 3
Divx 3 low motion
Framerate 29.75 fps
Audio
mpeg layer 3
Direct Show renderer
AVI Splitter
Divx anti freeze divx decoder
Mpeg layer 3 decoder- morgan stream switcher
Maybe I am asking the wrong question... maybe I should be burning this to a different type of format for the best playback on my dvd player. I just thought that converting the avi (divx) to VCD seemed to be the easiest solution with a tolerable quality for playback. My mpegs files that I have burned to vcd all have turned out quite nicely.
I have downloaded all the tools that were recommended in the guides.
Please help, I feel like a idiot, but I really have tried to search all the guides.
TIA,
Stinka
PS Hope this is the right area for this question
