i have a divx video that is 640x344 @25fps. I wish to convert to VCD NTSC (was originally PAL dvd rip). here's what I'm doing:
    1) load in vdud--> filters-->smart resizer. it adds the borders (LB) perfect with aspect ratio perfect. I then frameserve. i write an avisynth script for the .vdr file, with the following lines converttoyuy2,convertfps(23.976).
then from the avisynth script, I rip the .wav.
I then open CCE and frame serve the avisynth script, creating just the ES,
then I can mux the .mpv file with the .mp2 file i created with besweet.
Is there a better way?? seems along way around just for this. Albeit it works with everything synched and proportioned correctly.
only made a 3 min test file.
    any suggestions???????
    thanks in advance

Really, try Tmpgenc. For VCD is as fast as CCE (well almost) and the adjustments you can make within Tmpgenc require no other programs. I would just load the source video into Tmpgenc, do all the resizing and letterboxing from there and save the MPEG-1 stream.

Although I have stopped using Tmpgenc for MPEG-2 on a day to day basis, there are several AVI files I come across and Tmpgenc is actually the only way to handle them without getting crazy.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
