Ok I tried The Terminator with only DTS soundtrack chosen. Final product played auido in Ac-3. That same disc did not work in an older player that did not support DTS.
Question: Does DVD2One do DTS and keep it in DTS format, or does it turn it into AC-3? or do I need to use multiple audio tracks in DVD2one selection?
Thanks

I backed up a movie using DVD2ONE and selected only DTS and it plays fine and sound is in DTS.
Does you player/receiver support DTS? -
Your player MUST support DTS ie, optical or coax digital out, and you need a receiver that supports the decoding. If you only select the DTS sound track and do not have the equipment to support it, you will have no sound!
You create your own reality. Interested in media servers and HTPC? Can we talk? -
Yeah I understand all the basics. I've always lumped all Dolby Digital (2.0 or 5.1) into AC-3, but what I meant was I selected the DTS track, and I got a 5.1 track instead.
Actually, I've burned alot of movies the CCE>DVDMarestro route for awhile, and those DTS tracks were fine, and play out of my apex 2100 into a sony DTS capable receiver. Most discs I create are not up to DVD spec, which means I only use 1 track for audio when using DTS: Just the DTS track. This means if u dont have DTS u are screwed, but I plan on always having a setup at least like this (sheesh, with the discounts I get a Sony...) so none of that really matters.
The problem is that when playing back the movie created by DVD2One, the audio ended up being encoded as 5.1. Now, this is either me being stoney, or maybe DTS audio is turned into 5.1 for better file space under certain circumstances?
thx for replies
