  1. Does anyone know what the best program would be for creating an ISO from a VIDEO_TS folder from the hard drive? Thanks in advance

  2. You could use Instant Copy, which would give you a .pdi file.. but you can change that to a .iso w/ a program called pdi2iso.

  3. vandakeg, thanks for the reply. I'll research the .PDI format and information, I just have a quick question for you. I have Instant Copy just haven't used it to this point for full backups... but I have a couple of movies I should try it on. My question is what would I need to select in order for instant copy to create the .PDI file? I have a seamless branching title with 4 PGC's & PGC1 stripped out sitting on my hard drive in a VIDEO_TS folder which is 5.24 GB's. What would I need to selct in Instant Copy 7 in order to have it make a .PDI file? I remember reading the IC7 thread a while back and I think I remember the ability of IC7 of making an .PDI file 'FROM' the DVD "TO" the "HARD DRIVE." Can you confirm that it will create a .PDI "FROM" THE hard drive 'TO' the Hard drive?

    Thanks again in advance.

  4. well, I just researched it, and if I understood correctly, yep..it looks like that .pdi file is created by using a DVD for the source directory.

I have a VIDEO_TS folder that is 5.24 GB's which I need to make an ISO or a .BIN/CUE image from to try it with Instant Copy 7. Does anyone know of a program which will make an .ISO, or a .BIN/CUE image from the VIDEO_TS folder on my hard drive?

Once I do that, I should be able to get Instant Copy 7 to execute. Thanks in advance

  5. not correct it is looking for a VIDEO_TS.IFO and then it checks that all the vts references in the .ifo are there also ...otherwise it won't proceed. No need to convert it to .iso. Anyways to convert to .iso use imgtool..dl from doom9.org

  6. mrbass is right, you must have the video_ts.ifo file in the VIDEO_TS folder in order for instantcopy to make a disc image from the HD.

That was one thing I tried last night too, and I did notice IC was processing, but then it stopped because it couldn't find certain .IFO files. I stripped the 1st PGC of a seamless branching title, and IC was looking for .IFO files that weren't there and it continued to process. Any ideas?

If you start up IC7 then select your IFO from your VIDEO_TS folder then select your output then hit DETAILS tab followed by DVD tab & choose customize resize for copy method. Then when you hit start after a couple of seconds it should bring up the customize disc options & its here where you can de-select any of the PGC title sets,so you would just de-select the first title set then your ready.I myself haven't used this method before & some recon removing the extras can cause problems when playing back on your player..

  9. spaceman, I did that and IC7 didn't ask me which PGC I wanted to keep because I had already ripped PGC1 anyway I guess. What it did to was select the main movie .IFO file as opposed to the VIDEO_TS.IFO and IC7 started a process which took about an hour. After it was all said and done, I have a .PDI output file which is ONLY 650 kb's.

I'm not sure what it was doing for to hours, but with a .PDI file of only 650 kb's, it doesn't seem like much. Anybody familiar with what IC7 was doing? I wonder if i'm supposed to link that 650 kb file to the VIDEO_TS folder and try and transcode from their. I doubt it..but if anyone has any idea, let me know. Thanks
