  1. I'm basically a computer gamer but lately i've been yearning for a console. I wanted to know what u guys would get if u had to choose between a ps2 and a xbox. Personally I'm leaning more towards a Xbox beacuse it's specs are better and better graphics from games. Which would u get?

depends on wht you want to play...

xbox does have an advantage over the Ps2, but then again the Ps2 does have some hardware advantages over the Xbox.

If I were you, I would check the games.

Power doesnt mean anything if you dont have the games.

the ps2 is a safe bet because it has the most games and the games appeal to all audiences.

The Xbox on the other hand, does have the potential but needs to get the games..
    Ultimately the games decide...
If u want any console, get it for the games and future games as well.

xbox has more power under the hood, that aside the game selection is not so good. I sold my to a friend and got a PS2.

  5. You're gonna see more games come out for all three game consoles now instead of just seeing them come out on just one. Game companies are not going to make a game that will come out just for Xbox or Gamecube. They're going to make it for the PS2 as well, since they have the largest customer base. PS2 already has a large library of games and with it being the dominant game console out there, the library will just keep growing and growing.

Besides the PS2 not having a hard drive, there isn't much else the PS2 can't do that the Xbox can. It usually takes a couple years for game companies to utilize the full potential of a game console. With the PS2 being out the longest, the best games are available now. Xbox, you'll have to wait another year. Although the Xbox games do look great, and they should get better, their game selection will never be as large as the PS2.

I do agree with the others, under the hood the Xbox is significantly better than PS2. But that's what happens when you come out a year later than your major competitor.

  6. Both systems have games that i would enjoy playing and I'm still undecided on which system to get. Does Xbox have a bright future? I read somewhere that MS is losing money on every xbox they sell....does that mean that the xbox will suffer the same fate the dreamcast did? Or will MS continue to support the xbox.

Actually most video game makers lose money on each unit they sell, they make it up in the game licensing. As far as the future of the xbox I dont see it going anywhere soon, I think MS is going to stick this out one way or the other.

But personally as a RPG fan the xbox was a bad choice, so I switched.

  8. I got all three new systems.

and the one I see myself playing most the time is PS2.

Gamecube has its own line of games that I like alot too.

XBox has a lack of Japanese Company that delivers big hits.

    So.

    PS2 - Overall the best
    Tied
Gamecube - because of its own games, the least advance system of the three.
XBox - If your looking for PC type of games and the best video game hardware.

  9. I have both PS2 and Xbox and I prefer Xbox for it's graphics and hard drive. Also because you can play four player like Nintendo 64 without having to buy extra accessories like the PS2.

I'd go with the PS2. With such a large user base, you're ensured continued support.

  11. One more plus for Xbox is the built-in NIC. If you have a broadband Internet connection, nothing beats Xbox Live!

You have to buy the Ps2 Network Adapter..
but most people dont have Broadband, you need broadband to play Xbox Live...
Ps2, you can just hook up ur phone line to the network adapter and play, same holds for broadband...

also ITS FREE, Xbox=50.00 a year....
