  1. Hi,
I just copied a PAL version of a movie region free and now my player as named above just shows PAL and will still not play it. Anyone know if there is a way to fool the player into thinking it is NTSC? The player plays PAL SVCDs perfectly well so I am wondering why not the DVD?
    Anyone got any ideas??

  2. I don't think pal /ntsc is your problem because if the film is region free it does not matter what it is. I think the Dvd player looks to see the region code on the disc and if its programed to play that code it will play. One of my player will only play region 2 Dvds if i put in anything else it tells me wrong region and wont play. But when i copy to my hard drive and make it region free then burn back to dvd it will fire up no problems. Maybe you should check the media that you are using or the burn programs as these do cause alot of problems for some.

  3. The standalone is just showing PAL on the front display and then will not play the disk. Maybe due to it being set to an NTSC region it will not play PAL movies? It plays PAL SVCDs but this is the first time I put a PAL DVD into the player.
Anyone know it there is a way to reset the player to the factory defaults?
    All help welcome.

  4. Have you checked in the set up menu 1 of my players has and option in there and one has a small switch at the back of machine pal/auto/ntsc. But it does not really matter to the one with the switch as it does makes no difference what its set to because it only changes it from black and white to colour.
