    Is it possible to use the Sony DRU500AX in one of those firewire enclosures? If so would it work with a Mac? I ask this becuase I own a DRU500AX and I am thinking about buying a Powerbook G4 in the next 6 months and I probably wont be getting one with a superdrive.

    I have the Sony and it's in an firewire enclosure,works great.You might post this question in the MAC forum.

    to bad you thought to late or else you could of got the sony dru500ul which has usb2 and firewire support and cost only a little bit more.
