  1. Hello there!

How do I correctly add audio to mpeg stills using TmpgEnc?

You need a program like Gold Wave to make your audio into .wav file. Then using TMPGEnc, load the mpeg still as yideo input, and the .wav file as audio input. Select Start, and the resultant file should be a still picture with your audio.

If you plan to use more than one picture for the duration of the audio and you plan to use TMPEG then you'll have to process several small MPEG files, each with a still picture as a source and a silent WAV that is the same length as your desired picture display duration. You would then have to stitch these together into a new MPEG, demux, and add the video stream with your audio new audio stream into the "Source" settings in TMPEG.

Personally I would recommend Ulead Video Studio for a project like this. Drag and drop the pictures into the program and drag-n-drop your audio also. This program processes stills better than TMPEG and saves at least one re-encode. If you consider the ability to add transition effects between the pics then there's really no question. (I did this with my wedding photos and music to share the pics with my family...outstanding results!)

HOWEVER... if you're looking to make a slideshow with background music that you control interactively with the remote (or mouse) without interrupting the music, I have yet to find a way to do this. If you do, please let me know! You can make a slideshow but then you need to follow the TMPEG method and you need a separate sound for each picture.

    Hope this was some help!

  4. Thanks for the info.
My problem is that I can not load mpeg stills into TMPGEnd to add the audio. The resulting movie has 4 seconds audio and a black picture.
    Really weird.

If you can get a jpeg or bitmap image of your image, you can load the image as video input into TMPGEnc. Then load your wave file as audio input. The resultant file will be a video of your image with you wave file as audio. The video will last as long as the audio lasts.
