  1. I have a Sony DVSN715 but everyone keeps saying it's a pos.

I had a Panasonic RV-32 but it was a really big pos.

I want a dvd player that will not care what types of discs I use and one taht will not mess up like the Sony/Panasonic

what is the difference between the RV-32 and the RV-27?

I have the 27 and it works great. I cannot seem to find out info on the 27 anywhere however, and when I look at the photos and specs of the 32 they appear to be the same model.

    what gives?

  7. Hey, Go for an Apex AD1500 (but avoid the AD1600). They play anything at any bitrate.

If you can't find one of these then get a Yamakawa DVD218. This also plays anything but you may have to turn up the brightness on your TV a bit for a better picture.

The Apex sells for about $59 at Circuit City, Fry's, Besy Buy etc.

The Yamakawa sells for as low as $39 online and $49 at Fry's

At these prices you can throw them away in a year or 2 if you don't like it or if it begins to give you trouble. My Apex units have been going strong for 2 yrs now. The Yamakawa is only a few weeks old.

    Good Luck

I agree and my Sony plays everything I throw at it. I have yet to burn a DVD that didn't play in this fine player and that includes several brands of media from DVD-R, DVD+R, and DVD+RW they all play.
