Accu DVD-R media

I have seen several people say that the Accu DVD-Rs are great for use in the DMR-HS2.

I have been using Memorex and have now found that they do have problems.

I did a search on this forum for Accu and found many people saying they work perfect, but I also found one or two people saying that they are terrible and do not use them.

Has anyone that had previously said they were great changed their mind?

Are they still the disc of choice on this site?

Any help before I spend another $100 making coasters would be appreciated.

Memorex are garbage. I'm almost through my first spindle of 50 Samsung Bealls with no coasters. They can be purchased at Meritline.com. Here is a list of compatible players:

I had accu discs once before but used them in a A104 recorder.
Made several coasters and
some of the final recordings had issues.

I would not recommend using these at all.

Also stay away from DVDPro and Optodisc as these also have defective discs which cause coasters.
I used these in Panasonice DMR-E30 which is close enough to a HS2.

Most people who claim to have no problems with the Accu disk only use them in 1 maybe 2 dvd players. The reason I say this is because I was one of those people. I thought the Accu disks I was creating were great. I found out later after I purchased a portable dvd player and another home dvd player the disks I created were no good.

I started having all sorts of problems playing them. Pissed off and Aggravated, I started spending a little more money and found TDK disks work the best for me. I have never made a coaster since I started using them. If you don't believe me just check out Meritline, you will notice that the TDK disks are hardly ever in stock. They go fast, because quality is everything. This is my finding when I shop for TDK disks all over the web.

My TDK disks play in every player I put them in, that old saying is true, you sometimes get what you pay for.

ejai, where did you purchase your ACCU disks and do you happen to know the manufacturer of them? I too have had excellent results with the ACCU disks burned at 2x with my SONY DRU500a. With the exception of some type of problem with the last five or so in the spindle which I just burned smaller movies on, the disks are incredible, especially for the price. My ACCU are Lead Data and SONY for the manufacturer ID.

I have heard about people complaining about these disks but that was ONLY when the manufacturer was shady or the person bought them off "EBAY." Those disks off of EBAY i'm sure were not ACCU. I've also read where people said they got RITEK G03 disks when ordering ACCU. Apparently, those Ritek are good anyway, but the point is you have to be careful where you shop and make sure it's a reputable place. My ACCU's were so good I've decided to purchase another 100 pack spindle. To my surprise, they are out of the silver/purple, so they are giving me 100 pack of the white top, MORE EXPENSIVE, ink jet printable disks for the same price.

I asked them to send me the SONY manufactur ID disks as well. I will see when they get here. Lucky me huh? Anyway, let us know where you purchased your ACCU disks and if you checked the manufacturer ID.

I've also been using the Accu DVDs for a while (about 50 burns from two different orders). I have only had problems backing up three particular movies that approach the 4.7 gig wall. Otherwise, I'm rather happy with them. I'm using a Sony DRU-500A and playing on a Panasonic RV-30 and an Apex AD-1500.

The Accu's have served me very well so far. Almost 200 DVD backups and about 25 PSX games with almost no problems. All of these were Sony or Lead Data. I just recieved another batch of 100 Sonys but these have the white labels. I hope this won't be a problem for me. I'll know soon.

Actually the CDR DVDR Media store does have a better price than Meritline: $84 for 100 Accu DVD-R with free shipping. I've used the CDR DVDR Media store twice now, and I haven't had any complaints. Seeing as how CDR DVDR Media is located in CA, I don't see there beeing any difference in tax.

Also, I find that the shipping charges will often change the benefits of the sale price of an order. A $6 shipping charge translates into an additional $0.06 per DVD for a 100 DVD-R order.

THAT IS GREAT NEWS! I specifically called and wrote to cdrdvdrmedia.com and let them know I wanted the SONY manufacturer ID ACCU's ONLY!

They told me they would take care of it and not only would I get SONY, I would get them with the white label which is ink jet printable! It looks like they weren't bullshittin'....I hope you didn't get my order! lol..anyway, I personally could give a crap about the white labels because I use a marker to label them, but I think they will look nicer due to the fact that finger prints on the top won't be as visible. My shipment comes in tomorrow....let us know how your success with the "white label" ACCU's are.

Captain Satellite, you might want to ACTUALLY read Benzima's post. You said not even close to the best price and list meritline..lol...meritline has 100 pk for $85, cdrdvdrmedia, which happens to be owned by the same company, has them listed for $84...that's one dollar LESS then meritline.

In addition, I've ordered 100 pk of those bad ass ACCU disks from cdrdvdrmedia.com and when I found out they owned meritline, I asked them why the shipping was free on cdrdvdrmedia.com..they said because they are currently PROMOTING that site. I live in Florida and didn't pay A CENT in tax, I also didn't pay A CENT for shipping. Oh Yes, SHIPPING WAS FREE....I paid $84 for a 100 pack of ACCU disks which were Sony and Lead Data, and another $84 for my shipment which I'll have tomorrow. Each time, NO TAX, NO SHIPPING...AND BAD AZZ DISKS!

The first site I ever went to was cdrdvdrmedia.com When I found out they owned meritline and meritline had the SAME EXACT media, but for MORE money, I obviously said I will stick with cdrdvdrmedia.com You also need help adding buddy. The 1$ is just for the cd's themselves. When you take into account the fact you have to pay for shipping, it is much more then 1$. Even if it were 1$ though, I would still buy from cdrdvdrmedia.com because knowing the two are owned by the same company, meritline is obviously more well known and more for suckers like you who have no clue.
