I am thinking of buying one of the new Media Center XP PCs & have a question or two that no one seems to be able to answer at the stores. The main reason I want a PVR is to record shows then put them on DVD's to keep....I have little hope of some of the obscure stuff I watch ever to be released on DVD sets. My question is this...If I record a show, is there a way I can pause during the recording or edit it afterward with software so that I can cut out the commercials before burning to a DVD?
I would also welcome suggestions/opinions on the PVRs out there and whether I need one of the Media Center PCs or another setup like say, a Tivo and a standalone DVD-R.
Thank you in advance! If you want to email me directly for more info or a more detailed explanation, that is fine. Swortega@comcast.net
