  1. I have used this method but don t work :
I extract side A (vob1,2,3,4) then Side B in another folder, and rename vob 5,6,7,
I place all files (vod 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 in the same folder
Then I use Ifoedit to generate a new ifo.
I encode with DVD2ONE et burn with Instant

In my player, iI see the first chapiter correctly (corresponding to original face A but impossible to see the last corresponding to face B.

What are your parameters with Ifoedit ?
    Or other method ?

Hmm you are using the same method I would have used, it would be interesting to hear a reply on how to do this.

I too have used this method once before and while the whole movie played the chapter points of the 2nd face that i had joined were not there.Looking at other threads here and at doom9 you need vobedit witch is at doom9's download section.

It has something to do with the vob id so say face 1 has 4 vobs which have vob-id 1 & 2 and face 2 has 3 vobs with vob-id 1 & 2.So if you were to insert the 3 vobs from face 2 into the VIDEO_TS folder where the vobs from face 1 are and simply rename face 2 vobs to vts_01_5 /6/7 and run create ifo's from ifoedit it will think its only creating a set of ifo's for the first 4 vobs because its looking for the vob-id and it will think vob-id 2 is the end.

Using vobedit you can change the vob-id of the second face of vob-id's from the default 1 to say 3.So then you will have 7 bobs with vob-id 1,2,3,4 & not 1,2,1,2. check out this zip guide of vobedit below which was provided by Supreme 2k in a previous thread... https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=141595

  4. You may want to try to manually edit the Chapter pointers....

    In IFOEdit..

    Main movie IFO eg...

    VTS_01_0.IFO then go to

    PTT_SRPTI within IFO

then scroll down till you see TTU_1 PTTs:

Then double click the second PTT's....and edit them to correspond to the right chapters.

    ie..
PTT_1: Program Chain number PGCN 1
    PTT_1: Program number PG 1
PTT_2: Program Chain number PGCN 2
    PTT_2: Program number PG 2

so you would double click the line:
    PTT_1: Program number PG 1

    and

    PTT_2: Program number PG 2

This is how I manually would edit chapters in the older versions of IFOEdit before it was automated in .94

    Hope it works....

Hmm so is that what I will have to do to put lotr extended edition on to one disk?

    1) Rip both movies with DVD Decrypter
    2) Rename the files from disk 2 so that they follow on from disk 1
    3) Change the file ID with Vobedit
    4) Create IFOs with ifoedit
    5) transcode with dvd2one

    Is that correct?

Thanks for any help I may recieve

Yes thats right, but only for the movie if you wanted to keep the menu and any extras you would also need another proggy ifoupdate also from doom9...here is a link to a simple guide for joining a double face dvd..
    http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html#joindbl...

I can't say it will work 100% because i have not tried it yet.I do have goodfellas which is my only flipper so a may give it a go after my IC tests are done.........

edited...you need to swap round point's 2 & 3. if read the above link you will see why..

  9. barry how did u get on mate?

ive followed the above link to the flipper guide

used dvd dec to copy side A and side B in two different folders.

then used Vobedit to change the file ID of the 1st vob on Side B to add them 2gether, then i put all vobs in corresponding sequence into one folder, the created new IFOs with ifoedit.

so now im using dvd2one to transcode the vobs, will let u know how it goes
