i havent burned any movies yet, but can anyone tell me if i use dvdxcopy and just decide to keep the movie without any other extras, will i still be able to skip between chapters during the movie?

Hi Sulla! Welcome to the forum.
Yes DVDXCopy will retain the chapters if you choose not to include the extras. DVD2One (my favorite program) also does this very nicely. The possible advantage with DVD2one is if the movie is still to big to fit on one DVD5 after stripping streams, extra, etc. it will transcode the movie so that it will fit. The only downside is that it is a movie only application--it can not retain extras, menus, etc
--although it retains the chapter stops. Hope this helps.
