For some unknown reason my system stopped recognizing my DVC2 device and I'm trying so desperately to reinbtroduce it again, but unfortuneately I keep getting the same end results. Can someone please offer their expertise? Here's my situation ...
I started out on a bumpy road, as it took me some time to get the device recognized as new hardware and finanlly when I did I received the "property 69 error". I overcame this error by proceeding with the following ...
Uninstalling Moviestar
Reboot
Remove Dazzle device driver from Device Manager
Reboot
Install Device Driver upon bootup
Reboot
Install Moviestar software
Reboot
Install the latest version of MovieStar (going from ver. 4.22 to 4.23 via the update)
After this everything worked perfect. Then I upgraded again to 4.24 to be able to use the dvd template properly w/other editors and burnners. Which the 4.24 worked fantastic too (for awhile!).
After not using Dazzle for a few weeks and installing a number of other software apps (which some to name NERO 5.5.8, Ulead Workshop and DVDx) I prepared to do some captures and my machine was no longer recognizing the device (a device attached to the system is not functioning).
I tried the 9 step process mentioned above again ... and NOTHING. I tried removing the PCI card, rebooting and reintroducing it again ... NOTHING. I even tried removing the device driver from the add/remove programs AND as well as via the device manager, then doing the whole install process ... NOTHING. I tried installing the device driver along with the install of Moviestar and then not installing it from the Moviestar componet listing ... still NOTHING. All this (on several different attempts of course) I'm still getting "device attached to the system is not functioning". Grrrrr <pulling at my hair>
Any ideas from any of you experts out there? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only thing that I haven't tried yet is switching PCI slots ... I think that's next up.
What I'm thinking could be an issue, but I very well could be wrong (pls don't slam me if I'm a little far fetched) ... is that maybe since my last sucessful times were with the 4.24 version that somehow my system's registry is still utilizing those rules along with the freshly installed Moviestar 4.22. Could this be relevant with the nature of my problem? If so, are there any known registry hacks that I could try?

Thanks to all.
