For anyone over 40 my screen name is kind of obvious(for north Americans anyway)
I loved Green Acres as a child(TV show), and the pig Arnold Ziffel in particular so Ziffelpig was an easy choice for me.
Just shut up and listen dumbass

Though I've always been a fan of Smurfs, the name actually came from a game I played in the mid 1990s. It was my character name... don't really remember exactly why anymore... it just happened that way.

<<<My avatar is the cover of the YES album "Fragile" and the song, "Roundabout" was my first favorite song by them. It was the first rock LP I bought back in 1972 (I think it was released in '71), and Roundabout became my handle at school because I used to have one of those old Pana 8-Tracks (remember those?) that I carried around everywhere and played on the school bus and everywhere else. I guess I was considered strange, listening to Prog Rock when other kids my age were listening to Bobby Sherman and the Partridge Family, more than once I was asked "What are you listening to??" Maybe I introduced a few to something other than bubblegum music.

I still have that 8-Track today (a bootleg on TW "Tapeworm" label, old green label with block printing) and it probably still plays, though I don't have a player anymore.

When my cousin, who was my best friend, moved from Florida (where we lived back then) to New Mexico, we used to write letters and use the names of popular songs as our name on the address line of the envelope. Since I was already nicknamed "Roundabout", I just kept using it through the years.

  14. It just seemed to fit me

    -I was new around here
-I had just started to author and burn my own DVD-Rs
-I'm open minded and willing to learn and/or take advice
-I don't claim to be an expert on anything

Also has some symbolism behind it...

-One having to do with Chess

-another that I'm often told I look exactly like this guy and he's played a Rookie in a few roles

Just a small example how I play around with effects for my videos

The 64 is just my birth year - if I used my age, I'd have to change it every year...so went with something I could keep.

My first 5 choices were taken at my ISP, including my real name(Scary that 5 other people in the US on my ISP are using my first and last name). Our County motto is 'The home of the redwoods'. I tried 'redwoods' - taken. Settled on the next best - 'redwudz'.

My favorite pastimes is hijacking forums, posting confusing and misleading info, and other salacious activities on Internet forums. Threadcraps aren't my specialty, but I have been known to create a few good ones from now and again.

Reminds me of when I used to be the manager of a Video Arcade back in the early 80's. I was out of work and desperate for a job, and some friends of mine had just opened an arcade - I was a perfect fit as I was a Electronics Technician and the games needed constant maintenance.
I worked there for a couple of years and after a while I could hear those game sounds in my sleep!
Pac-Man was the worst of all for driving you crazy with the sounds. You know what I'm talking about... that "be woooooop" when Pac-Man was eaten. One kid used to come in and play it for hours and hours (on one coin) because he knew all the patterns - really no challenge at all. I think his high score was in the 4 or 5 million point range, the only reason why he stopped is just exhaustion.
I think this kid would have joined your "pacmania" religion if he could've! Later he got married, had a couple of kids and started a internet Porno site and supposedly made millions on it. I lost track of him years ago, but last I heard, he was looking for an old Pac-Man arcade game (the table style, with glass on top for two players). Probably worth something as an antique today.

"X" is my dancing name. My style of dance is amorphous in nature, and constantly changes (as "X" is the variable in mathematics, which can be any number, [ad infinitum]). By the way, the style of dance I do is called "popping". Some of you have heard it referred to as "pop locking". Believe it or not, poppers are still legion around the planet. We are everywhere.

  23. I joined the forum a long time ago before DVD burning was really adopted by the masses and thought back then that making VCDs was the shit. Now I do DVDs only but am stuck with the no-longer-so-cool-sounding moniker of vcddude.

  25. I wrote a paper for my Crime and Punishment class in high school advocating (defending/promoting) the Soviet military doctrine of the nuclear first-strike.

In trying to simplify some military concepts, I referred to the nickname of the LGM-118A 'MX' Missile: The Peacekeeper. In theory, the missile keeps the peace by its mere presence in the United States nuclear arsenal. With such an awesome weapon at its disposal, enemies of the United States must think twice before taking any direct nuclear action. I also interjected the Tarkin Doctrine (Rule through the fear of force rather than by force itself) from Star Wars to parallel this particular type of military thinking.

One hour later I was in the Principal's office for (literally) knocking the front teeth out of some guy's mouth. He suggested that my girlfriend's clothing made her 34D breasts look rather appealing to his manhood. The guy was one of the more, shall we say, popular people and I was known as an introvert who avoided most social situations entirely. Well word got back to my C&P class of what happened. The next day (amazingly, I did not get suspended), one of the football players said, "Indolikaa's like the Peacekeeper missile, man! Speak softly and carry a big-ol' fuckin' stick!"

My teacher corrected him. It was the first time I'd ever heard a teacher use foul language before. "That's Theodore Roosevelt, you dumbass."

The Peacekeeper nickname stuck anyway. Funny that the Peacekeeper actually worked on the Peacekeeper, huh?

  26. Peace has always been a sign. Whether two fingers as a fork, or two silos in the Earth, it is what you mean by it and how others see it.

And if two trees fall in the wood, do others partake in the outcome

Used to love the Newhart show's characters Larry, Darrel and Darrel - they always joked about roadkill as a menu item, SquirrelDip just seemed like something that might be on the menu...
