    Is it possible that the firewire can cause malfunction to the DV Cam.?
    A friend of mine had to replace (under warranty) 2 Sony PC 120 cams after he connected them to the firewire.
    Can it be the firewire cable connection?

    Try hooking it up to another port, on another pc
