  1. Hi all,

a question about burning my freshly-burned SVCD!!
The mpg is about 650 Mb.

I start Nero Burning Rom (version 5.5.8.x or something) and select Super Video CD. I set all parameters.

-> first question: what does the option 'try to fit to disksize'? I tried several settings but it doesn't seem to make any difference. though, I have a slight feeling that it does something somewhere...

-> second question, when I click the button 'new' in order to add the 650Mb-mpg to my disk, it starts scanning the file, and afterwards I look at the lenght of the total disk: this is lower then 650 Mb!! it's about 580 Mb!!! how is this possible??? (btw in the folder list in this screen I see indeed that the mpeg is much smaller then 650 Mb)

thanks for answering a strange problem!!!

  2. Problem solved, thanks to htc10825 . Now I realized there is nothing wrong with the size of the mpeg i'm trying to burn to SVCD.

Being this the case, I have another problem though.

The mpeg is about 790 Mb (encoded with TPMG), when i burn it to SVCD-format with Nero 5.5.x to a CD-RW of 700 Mb, it fits (total size about 685 Mb).

The SVCD has perfect quality, until the last 3 minutes!! The last 3 minutes i have very choppy playback when I play the cd in my dvd-player.
When I play the original mpeg-file of 790 Mb on my pc, there is no problem (very fluent playback in WMP): so I don't play the CD then, but the mpeg-file on my harddrive.

Could this be caused by the burning process, the media on which i burn, something else (e.g. maybe Nero re-encodes the SVCD to make it smaller and something goes wrong there???)? I use Nero and Maxell CD-RW's.

    thanks for sharing your wisdom,
    lalala
