Is Tivo and Replay TV the only currenty Standalone Digtial Video recorders on the market right now? I know you can get a addon card for your computer, but do they have any other form of standalone DVRs?

Ultimate tv from microsoft. That about narrows it down for hard drive recorders. There are standalone dvd recorders and ones that record on cd's. I don't know to much about, but I have seen them online.

Tivo and ReplayTV are the only Standalone Digital Video Recorders out there.
Microsoft's UltimateTV is pretty much the same thing but at this time it is only available as a DirectTV Receiver (i.e. no standalone recorder).
I am considering purchasing one soon (Tivo).
From what I know, Tivo could be in trouble in the not so distant future because it has yet to make dollar one in profit from all of its sales (go figure). What could happen? Well, someone could buy them out or they could merge with another company. That is what happened to ReplayTV recently.
If Microsoft would release a "standalone" player I would say they have a good chance to survive in the DVR/PVR world simply because they are Microsoft (and made of money) but for now they are limiting themselves to DirectTV.
