Can anyone point me in the right direction!

I live in the US and just recieved the Star Wars Executor Set but can't play it. Is there a US site that I can buy a PAL VCR cheap? Any help would be well appreciated.

  2. You will need more than just a PAL VCR because if thats all you get, what are you gonna watch it on, your NTSC monitor? Ain't gonna work that easily. You have two options,

    1) Hire a video conversion/duplication house to convert your PAL to NTSC
cost will depend on length of video, usually

    2) This is the better option. If this will ever happen again, BUY yourself a S-VHS Dual/Multi system vcr (it plays NTSC/PAL and sometimes SECAM) or plain dual/multi system. The former is better. Careful, some vcr's also REQUIRE that the TV monitor also be dual system as well, meaning, it can play both PAL and NTSC. I remember some cheaper Sony models did this. You can just imagine the confusion. This option is much more technical, so if you don't want to bother, just get it converted.

No delusions though, quality will suffer no matter cause of conversion. If you want better quality and you go with option 1 and convert, then tell them to put the converted tape onto S-VHS and watch it on a S-VHS player with output via s-video cable to your TV in.

I hope you understand what I've said. And also note, S-VHS tape will not play on a VHS player which most people have.
