I currently have a few .avi and .mpg files on
my HDD. A couple of them I'll have to burn to
two CD-Rs... no big deal. However, a few of them
were meant to be burned to a 80min/800mb blank.
Unfortuantly my burner uses 74min/650mb discs
(which BTW, are becoming incresingly difficult to find...
at least brand name ones)
So, what I want to do here is recompress the files to fit
on my 74min blanks.
I'm using VirtualDub ver 1.3c to do this on a Pentium III
850 with 256mb RAM.
Finally the question(s): Is there a rule of thumb or calculation I can refer to to determine how long the process should take?
I also have a copy of ULead Media Studio. Which of the two apps would you recommend for someone who up until now
has only done simple cutting and joining and wants to learn how to clean-up, convert and recompress video files.
